lyrics

Long ago in the realms of the sky
There was a raven with opal eyes
She held dark magic in her heart
For this reason there were men who
Sought to capture her and distill
All the secrets she held within
So they set a trap in the trees
But she was killed when it snared her

When they dissected her broken wings
And cut out her heart and opal eyes
Her severed beak began to sing
And all the men stood in shocked surprise
In fear they put all her parts into a jar
And buried them deep in the earth
It was to no purpose
for her song was still in the air

Soon the men themselves became ill
And madness tortured them endlessly
What they had released into the world
Were notes of wrath and chords of disease
The ignorance of man and
his desire to lord over all living things
will reap only suffering and death
to the end of his days
